Asset tracking & geofencing across the airport
IoT & SensorsTransport & Logistics
Key resultMisplaced-equipment downtime effectively eliminated
Challenge
CPH Airport operates 50+ IoT device silos and assorted APIs. To organise its growing IoT landscape, the airport piloted integrated asset tracking to optimise fleet size, reduce downtime from misplaced equipment and reduce passenger-impacting delays.
Solution
A custom device solution with cloud-side analytics on geo-spatial sensor data — locating assets, tracking usage over time and alerting when assets enter restricted zones.
- Asset tracking. Sensors on assets feed cloud analytics that locate equipment and track usage over time.
- Geo-fencing. Location-aware rules restrict, enable or monitor assets crossing geo-fences — triggering alerts to both asset users and zone operators.
- Analytics dashboard. Real-time results on mobile and desktop, end-user configurable and integrated with the client's federated authentication.
Results
- Operational risk & safety improved via no-go zones
- Downtime from misplaced equipment sharply reduced
- On-time, on-location equipment improved passenger satisfaction
